Vinyasa Flow and Yin Restorative Yoga
Service Description
A "vinyasa" is a smooth transition between asanas (yoga poses) where, guided by breath, one physical shape flows seamlessly into the next. In this vinyasa yoga practice we will move through both traditional and creative pose combinations. Leaning into and exploring transitions between these poses will allow opportunities for strength, stretch, and stability - both physical and mental. Connecting mind and body on the bridge of breath for a more intentional approach to movement and life. All yogis can benefit from this practice whether it is your first or millionth time on your yoga mat. The class will conclude with a longer Yin Restorative Savasana (relaxation) period. Yin Yoga is a slow-paced practice centered around long holds of passive poses and space for deep internal connection or meditation. All poses will be grounded, either lying down or seated, and will be held for about 5 minutes each. The longer duration in each pose allows time for the body to release past initial points of tension or resistance and sink into deeper connective tissues and find relaxation. An incredible option for anyone who: lives a busy or fast paced life, wants to get to know themselves better, needs more stretch in their body, feels like they can't sit still, or just generally exists in this beautiful complex human life (aka everyone). The entire class will run between 75 to 90 minutes.
